Owning a peice of myself...
I really loved this book. It was my very first book I got. Of course I got it because my name is Angelina. When I was little I used to think the book was actually about me! I own the first publication of this book and noticed that in the original one I've got it says "Santa Clause" and in the new one that my little cousin has it says "Father Christmas". I don't understand the change. Although I still recommend this book for any little girl who loves to dance, or who's name is Angelina!

Nice book
I came across Angelina's books a while ago. ...Great book, speaks to the kids for real

Angelina Books
This series is really terrific. My 4 year old daughter loves them...very high quality and well written.

Don't Take Me to Your Leader: Angelina the Martian's Lost Notes on America
Published in Paperback by Writers Club Press (April, 2003)
Author: Scotland Miles
Average review score:

Must Read
I have to say I really enjoyed this book. It's hard to pull off social and cultural criticism without stepping on a few toes along the way, but Miles injects his writing with the right mix of humor and satire to make for a thoroughly enjoyable romp through today's society. Actually, "thoroughly enjoyable" is just a pleasant side affect. After turning the last page, I can honestly say this book has influenced me and the way I see things more than anything I've read in the past 20 years. What a "sleeper"! I highly recommend it to anyone.

Outstanding!!!
If you enjoy satire, don't miss this one. Incredibly clever and insightful, this book will have you reading and laughing and reading and laughing some more. But the book is good for more than it's many laughs. It is a compendium of satire of society's traditions, habits and belief systems. There is a serious message; and that message is what on this earth makes sense and what doesn't. It makes you wonder, will our planet ever get any better. Oh, if your legislators would only read this book. Highly recommended.

Loved it!
A refreshing look at the American way of life by an entity from another planet. The writing style is refreshingly thought-provoking and humorous. It covered all our human bases.

Nothing Hidden

Unsurpassed Suspense and The Final Victory
Stories come and go; Some of them are easily forgotten, but NOT this one. NOTHING HIDDEN holds the reader in suspense until the final page, leaving a lasting impression of the love and power of Almighty God. The courage that Marion and her teen-age son showed throughout the story is an inspiration to us all. Everyone who reads this book will benifit in many ways, and I know God will bless each reader, as well as Lisa Angelina the author.
Sincerely,
Sharrie Elijah

Compelling Honesty Written From a Single Mother's Heart
Ms. Angelina tells this fact based story with gut level honesty. It reaches into our hearts with a reality that is refreshing in this age of Christian make believe. Every parent in this nation will be able to relate to the emotion of this exciting book, as the author shares the terror and joy she and her teen-age son experienced. The entire story points to Almighty God as the source for miracles and the deliverance, granted to the main characters in "Nothing Hidden." Full of thrills and moral lessons along the way, this book is one that offers help and encouragement to all who are fortunate enough to read the 24 awesome chapters. I highly recommend "Nothing Hidden." It's a story that will grab you by the heart and never let go.

The Treacheries of Friendship.
Friendships have a way of sowering and this is the case with Marion and Justin. To avoid trouble with the local police Justin's friend asked him to keep some weapons for him.

As it turns out these guns were stolen in a local burglary. The friend ultimately implicated Justin in the crime. Marion and Justin became victims of an overzealous police department. The interrogating officer was viscious in his attack trying to force a confession from Justin.

Their Christian faith did not allow Justin to confess to a crime that he didn't commit. Marion and her son offered prayers of deliverance and stood their ground and in the end with help from other family members, local business owners, and teachers they were able to uncover the plot by Justin's friend and his mother, also Marion's friend, to have Justin charged for the crime instead.

This is a classic case of a Christian triumph over treachery and evil.

Angelina Ballerina's Dancing Game
Published in Misc. Supplies by Pleasant Company Publications (September, 2002)
Authors: Catherine Kanner and Helen Craig
Average review score:

great addition to dance classes
My daughter is currently enrolled in ballet, this game helps to re-enforce dance positions and perform small dances.
The included cards for the game can also be used as a memory game or a study guide for the name and dance positions.
Is great for children interested in dance, movement or excersise, in addition to aiding those children already enrolled in dance schools.

Not a book, but a wonderful game for beginners
My daughter (age 4) loves this game. It's perfect for beginning game-players, as there are a minimal number of pieces involved and no counting required. Angelina-lovers will enjoy trying to assume the positions. Best of all, the cards can be used to play a separate memory (Concentration-style) game, so you really get two games in one.

The Christmas of the Witch

Authors: Angelina Moon and Gary Biltis

A TRUE FAIRY TALE (AND FOR ADULTS TOO!)
Angelina Moon has captured the true essence of Christmas in a witty, funny, moving book about the mishap of a witch who sleeps through Halloween, is banished to Earth and meets a little boy who shows her what love is all about. My husband and I enjoy reading (and reading and reading) this to our children almost as much as they do. The characters are unique and my seven year old love Ozzie the magical cat. Great book.

Finally a real fairy tale
What a delight! Moon has captured the essence of Christmas in a smart, funny, moving story that both me, my husband and our daughters adored! My five year old won't let it out of her sight! And now both kids understand what "it's the thought that counts" really means! Can't wait for the next book!

Home School, High School, & Beyond : A Time Management, Career Exploration, Organizational & Study Skills Course (w/CD-ROM)
Published in Paperback by Castlemoyle Books (March, 1999)
Authors: Beverly L. Adams-Gordon, Angelina J. Cavanaugh, and Associated Press
Average review score:

Parents and High School Students need this book
The book is useful for homeschooling parents who want to plan and help their child keep a portfolio of the high school years. It is also a COURSE for the child to take in time management.
Beyond the wonderful, helpful ideas, the child is taught steps to complete his/her own personal notebook organizer (with plans, calendars, personal goals, etc sheets inside). The book also teaches the child to plan his education and develop life goals.
The last part of the book contains forms for the notebook, project and essay checklists, course planning sheets (a child can plan his own course and have evidence of completion of that course), and many other helpful organizers.
THEN there is a CD free with it. It contains all those sheets in PDF form PLUS a scope and sequence and goals for just about any typical high school course you could think of (no environmental science but yes, even calculus).
I can't say enough good things about the book. I wish I had my oldest going through it last year (he's doing that now) and I plan to have my middle son go through it this summer before he starts 9th grade. My biggest problem is organization. The lack of it causes me to waste so much time. With this book, I'm hoping my children (and I) will learn skills so they (and I) will do better.
Better yet, the book enables the child to take charge and make decisions about his/her education. COOL!

Excellent for bilingual students.
Please send a copy of your book for review. I would like my graduate students to be using this book in their classroom.

Angelina Ballerina
Published in Hardcover by Pleasant Company Publications (September, 2000)
Author: Pleasant Company

Review
This is a book about a little mouse that wanted so much to be a ballerina. She did nothing but dance and that got her into trouble. She would dance all over the place and bump into thing and knock things over. Everyone was getting sick and tired of Angelina ruining everything. One day her parents told her that she needed to stop dancing all the time because it was ruining things. She did stop and her parents sent her to ballet classes. This made her happy and now she wasn't dancing all over the place and ruining things. Everyone was happy and Angelina took lessons for many years and became a famous ballerina.
This was a really great book. It teaches children that they can be whatever they want to be but they can't let it get in the way of the rest of their life and I think the author did a really great job of getting that point across. Sometimes people think that things are just a momentary obsession but that is really what Angelina wanted to do with her life. She wanted to be a ballerina and she did it and proved that she really could do it.

Wonderful Educational Toy for Your Little Ballerina!
Not only are the Angelina Ballerina books wonderful - all about a very strong willed little girl/mouse who lives out her dreams and learns many a good lesson in the process - but the Angelina Ballerina dolls (that are made by the American Girl Company) are equally as fabulous. I bought this set for my 3-year-old niece and I hope to add to her collection of both Angelina books and accessories for years to come. There is a book for every occasion (Christmas, birthdays, new siblings, new friends, school) and accessories for the doll to coordinate. There are also dolls for Angelina's little sister, her cousin and her best friend Alice. Plus tons of clothes, furniture and other fun stuff! It is so great to have toys that are quality made and so educational as well. You can not go wrong with Angelina Ballerina!

The ultimate gift for your little ballerina wannabe.
I bought this for my 3 year old daughter after we discovered Angelina through her videos. The story and artwork is beautiful and my daughter loves the book. It inspired her to want to attend dance class which she now does. Best of all this book comes with an adorable Angelina doll. My daughter takes it everywhere. Now she even wants us to call her Kaylie Angelina. Angelina is a great role model for any little girl. Every aspiring ballet dancer my daughter's age that I know of just loves her. This is a great set and I would recommend it to everyone.

Angelina and the Princess
Published in Hardcover by Pleasant Company Publications (August, 2002)
Authors: Katharine Holabird and Helen Craig
Average review score:

A supremely lovable book
In this sequel to Angelina Ballerina, Angelina learns that her ballet school is to put on a performance for the Princess of Mouseland. Angelina is crushed, though, when she gets sick in time for the tryouts. Forced to settle for a supporting role, she takes her mother's advice and determines to do her best at the part she is given. This is the story of Angelina's triumph!

Once again the unbeatable duo of Katharine Holabird (author) and Helen Craig (illustrator) combine to create a supremely lovable book. My ten-year-old daughter tore through this book, thoroughly enjoying the story. Yes, it wasn't a challenge to her reading ability, but she loved the story, and I appreciate any book that keeps her reading! Both my daughter and I highly recommend this book.

My daughter and I both love this book!
"Angelina and the Princess" is the first of the Angelina series my daughter and I have, but we plan to get the rest as we love this so much. Angelina is a tiny white mouse who yearns to be feminine and sweet, but is sometimes headstrong and silly--just like most girls I know (including my five-year old daughter!). Angelina has a dance recital coming up and she is pining away for a major role. However, as she's sick on the day of auditions, she doesn't do well and in fact, barely is able to crawl back home and into her worried mother's arms. She knows she did poorly, and her mother admits as much too, which brings me to one of the things I love about this book--there's no sugar-coating the fact that Angelina has gotten herself into a pickle. It's a storybook, and a fantasy at that, but it's realistic enough to keep the edge off the sweetness.

Angelina is counseled by her mother to do her very best. I don't want to give away the ending, but by keeping a cheerful attitude and trying to do her best for the whole dance company, Angelina is amply rewarded. It's a story with a moral, but the moral isn't presented in a sickeningly sweet way.

The illustrations by Helen Craig are truly a treat. Set vaguely in a Victorian England mousedom, they depict tiny cottages with climbing vines, drapey dresses with floral prints, tiaras, bouquets, adorable furniture, and so on. Three cheers to both Helen Craig and author Katharine Holabird for a book which is a joy to read and great fun to peruse just for the illustrations alone!

One of the Favorite Books for Little Girls
I bought this book for my nieces (three and four) who started their ballet lessons. I first hesitated because Angelina was a mouse who does not look like Mickey Mouse, instead looks rather like a real mouse, but all the pictures are so wonderfully detailed and cute. Not only my nieces love the story, but they are also interested in other things in the pictures (e.g. posters and toys in Angelina's bedroom etc). They have been reading it over and over, and each time they report me the things they noticed in the pictures. I am not sure if it is recommandable for little boys for the girly storyline, yet I am sure it is a great book for girls, especially who loves ballet.

Angelina's Baby Sister
Published in Hardcover by Pleasant Company Publications (March, 2002)
Authors: Katherine Holabird, Katharine Holabird, and Helen Craig
Average review score:

Very cute!
In this next book in the Angelina Ballerina series, Angelina can hardly await the arrival of her mom's new baby. However, when the baby arrives, she finds that the baby is now the center of everyone's attention. Wracked with jealousy, Angelina has a lesson to learn...

This is a very cute book. I like the lesson that it taught, and my daughter and I both loved the story and the wonderful illustrations. This is a good book, one that we highly recommend to you.

A dear, sweet look at the difficulty of having a new sibling
Katharine Holabird's "Angelina's Baby Sister" follows in the tradition of all the other Angelina Mouseling books. Angelina Mouseling is a small white mouse--perhaps somewhere between six and ten years old in people years--who has the complete attention of her parents and grandparents no matter what. Then one day, her mother has a baby! The new baby sister, Polly, is adorable and Angelina tries very, very hard to be interested and attentive and loving. But it's tough. No one is much paying attention to Angelina now that Polly's here, and that's especially upsetting to Angelina because she's recently been given an award at dance class.

Angelina finally gives in to her anger and throws off steam in the privacy of her bedroom. The problem is that in doing so, she accidentally breaks the award statuette she's recently earned. The adults--parents and grandparents alike--are surprised by Angelina's mood and soon figure out the connection to the new baby, Polly.

All ends well, however, and Angelina is able to look at Polly as a possible new audience member for Angelina's impromptu dance recitals at home. This is a dear, sweet book that examines honestly the difficulties involved in dealing with a new sibling. The illustrations by Helen Craig are, as always, just precious--softly colored, beautifully detailed, and always in step with the text.

Fabulous Gift Idea
Someone gave my 3 year old daughter this book when we had a new baby. Angelina has a hard time sharing the spotlight, and her family's time with the new addition. So did my daughter! But, reading this book with her gave us some "cuddle time" and helped us deal with incorporating a new and demanding member of the family! I've given this book as a gift many times since!
